GEF IEO & IPDET Host Workshop on “Evaluation at the Nexus of Environment and Development

GEI partners, GEF-IEO (Global Environment Facility, Independent Evaluation Office) and IPDET collaborated on a workshop focusing on “Evaluation at the Nexus of Environment and Development” at the recent IPDET On-Site Program in Bern, Switzerland in July. The workshop focused on recent approaches to assessing environmental and socioeconomic outcomes of environmental projects and programs.



Participants learned about world examples from evaluations which demonstrate the application of key concepts such as the use of geospatial tools, the use of systems approaches in evaluation, and Theories of Change which address the inter-connectedness between environmental interventions and socioeconomic outcomes.
