This online session will cover ‘how Safeguarding should be considered and built into monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) & research activities'. We will present guidance developed by the Safeguarding resource and support hub (RSH) introducing attendees to principles for safe MEL and research.
Structure: A short training session on safeguarding, led by Jo Feather and Alix Clark, Joint Evidence Leads on RSH, followed by a Q&A.
Learning objectives:
• Participants will become familiar with the basic principles for ensuring safe MEL and research
• Participants will be better able to identify safeguarding risks within MEL & research activities and be able to apply basic principles of safe MEL to address these

Alix Clark Joint evidence lead Alix Clark is a Senior Technical Specialist at SDDirect, specialising in Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) aware monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL)approaches. Alix is a Joint Evidence Lead on RSH.
Jo Feather Joint Evidence lead Jo Feather is a Principal Consultant in the GBV Portfolio at SDDirect. Jo has a strong track record in monitoring, evaluation, learning and research, with a focus on qualitative, participatory, feminist approaches. Jo is a Joint Evidence lead on the RSH.
