M&E is playing a key role as the Philippines embarks on the 2023-2028 Health Sector Strategy. With the recent Mandanas-Garcia Ruling giving local government more budgetary and decision-making control, all levels of government are in need of data and M&E capacity to create a culture of evidence-based decision-making for health policy; but how do we get there? This session will examine cost-effective approaches to balance the need for local, action-oriented data and national data for policy making and the need for increased collaboration in the larger health sector. This session is hosted by IDinsight and ASMPH Center for Research and Innovation.

| Dr. Alice Redfern | Senior Manager, IDinsight | Alice is a clinically trained doctor with over 5 years experience in public health research and development. She is currently managing two partnerships with the Philippine Department of Health: a 5-year National Health Promotion and Literacy Study, and supporting DOH with a measurement strategy for the country’s universal health care policy. |
