Regional and national MEAL networks: moving towards influential evidence for decision making

Sobre el evento

Monitoring, following different approaches, has become a more common practice in several countries in the region and has adapted to different contexts. Evaluation on the other hand is more of a sporadic exercise, left alone mainly for internationally funded projects. This translates into following international standards for evaluation exercises to comply with requirements without always considering what would really benefit the project. Over the last years, CEI, the regional VOPE, has advanced its work and promoted the creation of national chapters and key alliances with universities. These networks will share the benefits of involving experienced evaluators who understand existing values and beliefs to shift towards culturally responsive M&E principles that contribute to having more influential evidence as well as strengthening a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
