The panellists will discuss institutionalizing gender disaggregated data systems in Pakistan's public sector and identify high priority avenues for key reform and a research agenda to generate evidence.

Dr. Hadia Majid Co-director of GenTech, Chair of the Department of Economics at LUMS Dr. Hadia Majid is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at LUMS, and co-director of GenTech. Her research agenda considers the impact of monetary and public resource constraints on individuals in Pakistan with a special focus on women’s access to decent, empowering work. She has published in international journals and is currently editing a book titled Gender at Work in Pakistan. She has received grants from several agencies including ESRC-DFID, Oxfam, IDRC, IGC, IFPRI among others and has acted as a consultant for numerous government and non-governmental agencies on gendered labor market outcomes. A Fulbright scholar, she has a PhD from The Ohio State University and MSc from University of Warwick.
Fauzia Viqar Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment at Workplace, Government of Pakistan Fauzia Viqar is the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment at Workplace, Government of Pakistan. She brings decades of activism and experience in women's rights and human rights in Pakistan and globally to this position. Formerly she headed the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women where she focused on policy/legislative review and reform and succeeded in placing gender equality and female empowerment at the core of government processes, by providing concrete evidence derived from unique data collection based on administrative and specialized surveys. She has worked with civil society organizations in Pakistan and with the government in Canada to promote gender equality. She has served on various policy-making boards and committees in the government, non-government organizations, and in the private sector, including Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited.

Zohra Sohail Gender Consultant Zohra Sohail has over ten years of experience working on development programs, where she has extensively addressed gender and inclusion across diverse thematic areas, including stability/resilience, governance, democracy, and agriculture in Pakistan. She has also supported education projects in Sierra Leone, the Philippines, and Fiji, aiming to improve children’s learning outcomes. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and another in Gender and International Development from the University of Warwick, where she was a Commonwealth Shared Scholar.
