Decolonising evaluation: An in-depth look

Workshop | Online

About the Event

Why is it important to decolonise evaluation processes? From local community organisations to international development programmes and even within processes such as product and initiative design, people and groups around the globe are exploring what it means to redistribute power within the evaluation process.

In this interactive workshop, Nish Doshi (Community Organiser and practitioner of decolonising design) and Angela Schlenkhoff-Hus (Senior Learning and Evaluation Consultant at inFocus Consulting) will lead a peer discussion to explore the challenges of trying to decolonise your evaluation and methods to overcome them.

Takeaways from the session will include the following:

What it means to start ‘decolonising’ your work, and how this affects the evaluation process and your role as evaluator;
Where else organisations are exploring decolonising evaluation, and what methods and initiatives already exist in the international context;
The challenges of trying to decolonise evaluation processes and how you can start to overcome them;
...And more!

This workshop will be in English, and use breakout rooms for discussion.
