About the Event
To increase access to safely managed sanitation in rural areas, iDE has installed over 23,000 alternating dual pits (ADP)–an on-site sanitation solution that uses storage and lime to treat sludge.
iDE conducted research combining health and social science to investigate the effectiveness of ADP to 1) reduce pathogens to safe levels, and 2) assess household sanitation behavior.
Using this field research as a case study, this session will explore key challenges and learnings when conducting such applied research and how to develop and conduct evaluations that can inform, improve, and influence WASH sector best practices.
