The role of data in reducing inefficiencies in healthcare budgeting and spending

Webinar

About the Event

Most African countries are dependent on foreign aid to finance their health budgets for primary healthcare, maternal and neonatal health, and high-burden diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. However, the challenging global economic climate is reducing amounts allocated to Africa countries. There is now a need to spur African countries to increase their domestic resources for the health sector, as well as reduce inefficiencies in healthcare budgeting and spending. This event brings together government and civil society practitioners and experts from Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia. The experts will examine and share best practices on how they are working to turn around systems using data and targeted interventions to monitor progress and facilitate efficient use of allocated resources.
