This presentation and facilitated online discussion will focus on the reasons why M&E practice needs to shift towards not just evaluating progress against SDG goals, but also evaluating the interlinkages between SDG goals. Why is this so important in today's context? What new types of learnings can emerge? What can we do to make a shift towards this practice?

Shravanti Reddy Principal, Theory Action Group Shravanti Reddy has over 20 years of experience working on complex and joint evaluations and studies, mainly in the UN system. She specializes in integrating gender equality, human rights and environmental considerations in evaluations. She is the co-author of the Inclusive Systemic Evaluation for Gender Equality, Environments and Marginalized Voices: A new approach for the SDG era.
Dr. Thidar Pyone Technical Officer , Office of the Chief Scientist, Science Division World Health Organization (WHO) A trilingual public health doctor (PhD, MPH, MBBS) with 18 years of experience in global health, in designing, planning, implementing and evaluating public health policies and programmes. This includes long-term assignments at field and country offices in Southeast and South Asia, distance support from headquarters positions and short-term technical assistance to countries in Asia and Africa.
Thomas de Hoop Managing Economist and Program Area Lead, American Institute of Research Thomas de Hoop directs a research and evaluation portfolio with a focus on the impact, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of self-help groups, savings groups, and education innovations in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. He is currently the team leader for the evidence synthesis of the Sustainable Development Goal 17 Partnership Pillar.

Claudia Marques De Abreu Lopes Research Lead, UNU - IIGH Claudia Abreu Lopes is a Research Lead for capacity building with the United Nations University International Institute of Global Health. Her work focuses on the gendered aspects of digital technologies for health and methodologies for the design, implementation, and evaluation of health policies and programmes. She is a social psychologist with a PhD in Social Research Methods from the London School of Economics.
