Microsimulation Models as a social policy evaluation tool

线上活动

About the Event

Russia has set a national goal to halve poverty by 2030. Recent economic decline caused by the COVID-19 pandemic creates additional poverty risks and significantly complicates the task of achieving that goal. We have developed a microsimulation model for ex-ante evaluation of the strategy to achieve the poverty target. Such methods are highly sensitive to underlying assumptions. At the webinar we will discuss advantages and limitations of microsimulation modelling as a tool for social policy evaluation in the long term.
