About the Event
With the persistence of ‘wicked’ social problems, stakeholders must build synergies to address problems related to inequity and gender especially as the private sector becomes a major player. Three panelists using their collective experience in both development and the private funding space will explore the following questions: How is impact understood, what is the understanding of M&E? What are the limitations in program design and how do they impact robust M&E systems? How do we marry M&E needs that address primary stakeholders with corporate functions of audit and financial utilization? And most importantly, how can mainstream M&E evolve to cater to the emerging needs of the private sector?

| Neha Dhingra | Senior Manager, Education and Income Stabilisation, United Way of Hyderabad | Neha has over a decade of experience in the development sector, at UWH she leads programs with Corporate donors in broad areas of Education and income generation. Her current role includes developing program strategy and design, collaborating with technical experts, grant-making to NGO partners/ consultants to create a robust design along with M&E for programs. Prior to UWH, Neha worked with other non profits including ActionAid, Dr. Reddy’s Foundation, and SEWA, and also held independent consultancies. She has also undertaken program evaluation, research on Gender responsive budgeting, and developed manuals/toolkits for micro-finance institutions to improve their internal processes and communication. She holds an MPhil in Women’s Studies and an M.A in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Passionate about gender and equity, she has been associated with GENSA since its inception |
| Anagha Mahajani | Chief impact officer, Ambuja Cement Foundation | A social development and sustainability professional, Anagha brings valued experience in design, development of evidence based development projects. An opportunity to work with field NGOs, as faculty with Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a freelance development consulting enriched the commitment to the sector. With over a decade with Ambuja Cement Foundation she has handled varied responsibilities of implementation of CSR projects with currently leading program monitoring and research as Chief Impact Officer. As part of the Corporate Sustainability Steering Committee at Ambuja she has actively contributed to reporting of sustainability initiatives for SD report and several sustainability indices including Dow Jones at Ambuja. She is an alumni of the prestigious Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and a qualified management professional from Welingkers institute of management. Being a trained development researcher actively engaged in the sector, she has some publications to her credit. |
| Tanvi Negi | Associate Director, Knowledge Hub Quest Alliance | Tanvi heads the Research and M&E function at Quest. She leads a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, evaluators, and data analysts that works together to promote an Impact first approach and data driven culture within the organisation. Prior to joining Quest in 2019, she worked with a social enterprise called Rang De as the Chief Impact Officer. Tanvi has spent nearly 11 years in the development sector across multiple teams such as Communications, Operations and M&E. She holds a post graduate diploma from IIM Indore and began her career with a leading media company before switching over to the Development Sector. She is interested in exploring how technology advancements are impacting/ likely to impact issues of privacy, human rights and equity. |

| Amrita Gupta | Data Lead Global Accountability, Global Fund For Women | A development and social science researcher with over 15 years of experience in research, policy review and impact assessment and evidence-based advocacy. Amrita is currently the Data Lead- Global Accountability at the Global Fund For Women. Amrita’s areas of expertise include research and advocacy on gender, women and young people’s health, and economic opportunities. A published author and prolific panelist in the development sector, Amrita has also conducted several workshops across universities in India. She is also associated with the BITS School of Management (BITSOM) as a visiting faculty for Sociology. Amrita has a Masters in Sociology from the Delhi University and a Masters in Public Health, Health Policy Economics and Finance from TISS, Mumbai |
